Indie Spirit noms offer glimpse into awards race - Entertainment News, Indie Spirit Awards, Media - Variety I'm looking to catch up on some of these if not all before the Independent Spirit Awards. Just in case you don't know when the Indie Spirit Awards happens, it always take place the night before the Oscar's. So yes, it will be on a Saturday evening and Sunday is the Oscar's. Love it. It's a fun film awards weekend for me. I'll be hosting my 6th Annual Oscar Party. Yay! ~vanessa

"Why Don't You Get A Job Spicoli?"  Fast Times At Ridgemont High Review by ~vanessa r. aquino 09/24/09 "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" was ahead of its time back in 1982.  This film is very adult themed when it was released.  Teenage life encompasses everything.  It touches all sides of issues that teenagers face from peer pressure, sex, freedom, exploring feelings for a guy or girl, growing up and responsibilities.  I was not aware the director of this film was a woman, Amy Heckerling! As I reviewed the film for the second time, I am amazed of her accomplishments in this film, it being her first feature film.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Heckerling It's worth watching again and again.  ~vanessa r. aquino
